LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) retrieved Rs29.17 million from 997 chronic defaulters across all its operational circles on the eighth day of its ongoing recovery campaign on Wednesday.

A Lesco spokesperson shared the results at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Lesco officials, along with city and Shalimar tehsildars, collected Rs4.31m from 97 defaulters in the northern circle and Rs4.52m from 96 defaulters in the eastern circle. The central circle recovered Rs5.56m from 124 defaulters. Similarly, in the south circle, the company recovered Rs2.04m from 97 defaulters. Up to Rs2.11m were recovered from 53 defaulters in Nankana circle, Rs1.84m from 67 in Sheikhupura circle, Rs3.76m from 256 in Okara circle, and Rs5.03m from 207 in Kasur circle.

In all, Lesco officials, along with tehsildars, recovered Rs184.4m from 7,088 defaulters across all operational circles.

The breakdown of the recoveries so far in this campaign is: Northern circle collected Rs25.42m from 746 defaulters, eastern circle Rs27.72m from 948 defaulters, central circle Rs32.41m from 888 defaulters, south circle Rs13.91m from 541 defaulters, Nankana circle Rs9.63m from 403 defaulters, Sheikhupura circle Rs20.57m from 743 defaulters, Okara circle Rs15.11m from 1,038 defaulters, and Kasur circle Rs39.63m from 1,781 defaulters.
