KARACHI: The acceptance of nomination papers of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president Shehbaz Sharif from a Karachi National Assembly constituency was challenged before an election tribunal on Wednesday.

The younger Sharif had filed his papers from NA-242 (Keamari-I) and the returning officer (RO) accepted the same during the process of scrutiny.

However, another contestant from the same constituency, Masood Khan, challenged his candidature, stating that he had filed objections regarding declaration of Shehbaz Sharif’s assets but the RO did not entertain them.
