Degrees awarded to 1,091 students at Ziauddin University convocation

KARACHI: Over 1,000 graduating students were awarded degrees at the 21st convocation of Ziauddin University on Saturday.

The event was also attended by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar of the Supreme Court and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmad Khan of the Sindh High Court.

The top 20 position holders for their exemplary academic performance during their tenure at the university were awarded Sir Ziauddin Gold Medal.

The medal recipients included Hamza Siddiqui (MBBS), Zaib-un-Nisa (LLB), Naveen Pasha (Pharm.D), Mohiba Akhter (DPT), Kanzaa (DOT), Saif-ur-Rehman (Medical Technology), Moazzam Ali Khan (Biomedical Engineering), Abdul Rehman Fazal (Civil Engineering), Wamiq Ali Khan (Software Engineering), Bushra Anzar (Biotechnology), Sheeza Khalid (Business Administration), Muhammad Osama (Electrical Engineering Technology), Talha Khilji (Biomedical Engineering Technology), Shahbaz Rasool (Management & Technology), Mirza Abdullah Baig (Data Science), Maha Farooq (Audiology & Speech Language Therapy), Mehvish Naz (Nursing), Shafia (Eastern Medicine & Surgery), Jalal Waheed (Civil Engineering Technology), Rabeea Salman (Dental Surgery).

A total of 1,091 graduating students were conferred degrees in various disciplines including medicine, dental surgery, law, Pharm.D, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physical education health and sports science, medical technology, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, biotechnology, business administration, electrical engineering technology, biomedical engineering technology, civil engineering technology, management & technology, data science, communication & media studies, digital media marketing, Audiology and Speech Language Therapy, nursing, eastern medicine & surgery; language; B.Ed.

In their speeches, ZU Chancellor Dr Asim Hussain and Pro Chancellor Prof Dr Nida Hussain extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students including the inaugural batch of law graduates.

Earlier, in his welcome speech, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Inayatullah Khan complimented the students, saying, “Over the past years, Ziauddin University has continued to excel, achieving remarkable standings in both national and international rankings. I encourage you to carry forward this legacy of excellence and innovation.”
