SWABI: A schoolteacher was shot dead allegedly over a monetary dispute here on Saturday, the police said.

Mukhtaj Ahmad, a brother of the deceased, Mushtaq Ahmad, reported to the Swabi city police station said that he along with his son and brother was returning from Guloo Dheri area on separate motorcycles when Yasir Khan alias Tamrez and an unknown person opened fire on Mushtaq near Maneri Payan. He said Mushtaq died on the spot, and the attackers escaped the area.

The police said the motive behind the killing was stated to be a money dispute between Mushtaq and Yasir. The police registered an FIR and launched investigation.

Meanwhile, a man was killed over an old enmity in Farooq Banda area in the limits of Tordher police station.

Zamrud Khan of Jabr village told the police that he along with his son, Khanzeb Khan was going to Akora Khattak on a motorcycle when Zakir Khan and Siddique Akbar opened fire at them, killing his son.
