KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) secured a place in the President’s Trophy Grade-I final after their last-round match against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) ended in a draw here at the KCCA Stadium on Friday.

SBP will meet Pakistan Television (PTV) in the five-day final starting March 4 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

KRL posted 384/3 in 108.4 overs against SBP before the match was drawn. Muhammad Awais Zafar (113 not out) and Imran Rafiq (100 not out) starred with unbeaten centuries for KRL.

At the UBL Sports Complex, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) clinched a seven-wicket victory over Eshaal Associates.

Eshaal Associates, relegated to Grade-II after finishing bottom of the nine-team table, were bowled out for 306 in their second innings, with Danish Aziz (92) and Mohammad Haris (55) scoring half-centuries.

Chasing 108, SNGPL reached the target in 16 overs, propelled by Abid Ali’s unbeaten 49. Abid had also struck a monumental 225 not out in the first innings.

Meanwhile, OGDCL defeated Higher Education Com­­mission (HEC) by 110 runs at the State Bank Stadium, fuelled by Mushtaq Ahmed’s five-wicket haul.

Chasing 395, HEC collapsed to 284 des­pite half-centuries from Ali Hamza (60), Mohammad Ali (58) and Mohammad Mohsin (53).
