KARACHI: A young man, who was shot at and wounded by suspected robbers on Wednesday night, died on Thursday, police said.

The Sohrab Goth police said that the deceased, 20-year-old Waseem Ahmed, was shot and wounded during a robbery near Punjab Bus Stand on Superhighway.

Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said the youth had suffered two bullet wounds on his head and thigh. He was taken away by relatives to a private hospital where he died during treatment.

Area SHO Sohail Khaskheli said that it appeared to be a robbery-related incident as the armed suspects took away the victim’s motorcycle. He added that the police were also exploring the possibility of a targeted attack as part of their investigation.

The victim was a painter by profession. He had recently married and the in-laws had gifted him the motorbike.
