ISLAMABAD: Top brass of the capital police ordered probe into the allegations leveled against police officials of taking bribe from a land grabber to facilitate him in his illegal activities.

A police officer told Dawn that a land grabbing victim had lodged a complaint with the Gorla police in March 2024, seeking registration of a land grabbing case.

He stated that the Golra police had registered a land grabbing case in response to his complaint only after an SP conducted and inquiry and found the case valid.

Later, the police arrested some accused nominated in the FIR, and after completion of the investigation submitted charge-sheet in the court.

In the meantime, another SP conducted an inquiry unilaterally, but two senior officers of the SP showed dissatisfaction over the inquiry and proceeded with the case.

The complainant alleged that now a sub-inspector got handsome amount from the accused and took over the file of the case, besides facilitating the accused in grabbing the land of the complainant.

The complainant requested the senior police officers to take action against the policemen. In response to the complaint an SP was asked to conduct an inquiry and fix the responsibility for further action.
