KARACHI: A former Afghan soldier, who is allegedly involved in street crimes, was arrested in Orangi Town on Thursday, police said.

West-SSP Tariq Illahi Mastoi said that the held suspect, Sher Husain, was an “illegal” Afghan. He was arrested from Bijli Nagar, Sector-4. An illegal pistol, snatched cell phone and cash were recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, the suspect revealed that he was a trained soldier of the Afghan army, a police statement said.
