KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Thursday condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan, urging all political parties to unite on a common platform to tackle the threat of terrorism.
The party would soon convene an all-party conference (APC) on the issue, said MQM-P’s Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui while addressing a press conference.
He mentioned that the country was being targeted under a conspiracy at a time when it had started showing signs of improvement in economic indicators and begun to recover from various crises.
He termed the situation complicated in which terrorists hijacked the train and took passengers hostage in Balochistan. Describing the terrorist acts as part of a larger conspiracy against the nation, he said that all the institutions and forces were working together to confront that challenge.
There was no room for terrorism anywhere in the country, he said and urged all political parties to unite on a common platform to tackle that issue.
He announced that the MQM-P would soon convene an APC and also raise questions with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to address the issue of terrorism on the national level.
