PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati condemned Saturday’s explosion in Peshawar that killed cleric Mufti Munir Shakir.

Mufti Munir along with three others was injured in an explosion outside his seminary in Urmar area on outskirts of the provincial capital.

All were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where Mufti Shakir succumbed to his injuries.

In a statement issued from his office, Mr Gandapur ordered police to submit a detailed report of the incident and take all the necessary steps to arrest the elements behind the incident.

Mr Swati, who also condemned the attack, said that the incident was meant to create chaos in the country. He asked government to bring the culprits to task. In a statement issued from his office, Mr Swati said that Mufti Shakir’s services would be remembered.
