ISLAMABAD: City managers on Monday emphasised the need for beautifully landscaping the newly-constructed Jinnah Square (Serena Interchange) and Tayyip Erdogan Interchange (F-8 Jinnah Avenue) projects.

According to a press release, an important meeting was held at the CDA headquarters under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa regarding the landscaping of the said projects. The meeting was attended by members environment, engineering and administration, architects, experts and senior officers of the civic body.

The CDA chairman instructed all concerned that unique and attractive designs should be prepared for both interchanges, further directing the architects to prepare 3D designs to further enhance the beauty of both projects.

Mr Randhawa said that the interchanges constructed in both projects be adorned with modern and elegant LED lights to ensure proper illumination and to beautify the interchanges through effective landscaping.

He further directed the development of comprehensive, sustainable and feasible designs for the landscaping, emphasising that both underpasses should be modernised on a long-term basis within the stipulated timeframe. The CDA chairman directed that the landscaping of Jinnah Square Interchange project should reflect Pakistan’s struggle for independence and its historical landmarks.
