LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Thursday approved eight development schemes, including the CM Punjab Laptop Programme, with an estimated cost of over Rs57 billion.

The PDWP’s 70th meeting, chaired by P&D Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Awan, approved the CM’s Laptop Programme at a cost of Rs27 billion.

The working party approved establishment of enforcement stations of PERA in Punjab (new construction / rehabilitation of existing government headquarter, Lahore, at a cost of Rs9.594bn.

It approved construction of Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Headquarter, Lahore, at a cost of Rs4.419bn; construction of multi-story courts for AD&SJs and courts for civil judges at Sheikhupura district with an estimated cost of Rs1.03bn; establishment of material testing laboratories in Gujranwala and Sialkot in collaboration with the urban unit at a cost of Rs1.731bn; establishment of aquaculture malis in Punjab at a cost of Rs2.17bn; establishment of University of Child Health Sciences at Lahore at a cost of Rs9.17bn; and launch of a programme for revamping OPD blocks in tertiarycare hospitals in Punjab at a cost of Rs2.27bn.
