OKARA: Renala Assistant Commissioner (AC) Anam Ali Khan got three separate cases registered against illegal occupants of Punjab government land meant for a pasture at Ram Zakhira locality in Chuchak police limits.

As per officials, the land grabbers had been served many notices to vacate the state land, but they kept occupying it.

On Wednesday, a team led by the AC, demolished the illegal structures built on the land worth Rs7 million with the help of heavy machinery.

On the report of halqa patwari Omar Farooq, three separate cases were registered at Chuchak police station against the land grabbers.

First case was registered against a suspect, Ashraf, under section 447 of the PPC.

Another case was registered against a suspect, Zulifqar and his four sons, Nadeem, Shahzad Iftikhar and Saleem, under sections 447, 506, 148 and 149 of the PPC.

The third case was registered against suspects Zubair and Magnus under sections 447, 506 and 34 of the PPC for illegal sale and purchase of public land.

Meanwhile, tehsil administration, during inspection of two godowns owned by Islamia Traders in Renala city, found 1,400 bags of rice, beside 500 16kg packs, respectively, which were not entered into the stock register, amounting to hoarding for profiteering.

The stock owner was slapped with a heavy fine.
