TOBA TEK SINGH: A team of FIA’s composite circle in Faisalabad arrested on Thursday a member of a gang involved in sending women to Saudi Arabia for begging in the garb of Umra visit.

An FIA official said accused Abdul Ghafoor of Chak 216-RB would promise jobs to women but after landing there his gang members would force them to do begging. He He said accused had recently sent five women to Saudi Arabia and used them as beggars. He said when the women demanded their passports to return to Pakistan, they would demand Rs 500,000 per woman they had spent on their travel.

He said names of his accomplices had been put on the Stop List.

OMBUDSMAN: The secretariat of the Federal Ombudsman has disposed of a record 226,000 complaints during this year which also passed on relief of Rs8 billion to the complainants.

Addressing the business community at FCCI on Thursday, Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi said 100pc complaints had been resolved within 60 days while the outreach of this institution had also been enhanced to far-flung areas.

“The number of complaints is expected to jump to 270,000 by the end of this year”, he said and added that individual complaints were immediately investigated and settled.

About the system-related complaints, he said that in order to streamline the systems of different departments, his office had also prepared 80 comprehensive reports free of cost and presented the same to the government for implementation.

He said 45pc complaints are being received through the online system while the process of hearing of the complaints through mobile has also been started.

FCCI President Rehan Naseem Bharara said that FCCI became operational in 1975 and now we are celebrating its golden jubilee events.
