HYDERABAD, Nov 18: Speakers at a ceremony held here to launch CDs of poet Ibrahim Munshi said that the government was creating hurdles for the development and promotion in Sindhi literature.

The ceremony was held in Tando Mohammad Khan.

The CDs of the poet’s works have been recorded in his own voice. The function was organised by the Allama I. I. Kazi Literary Forum.

Sindhology director Shaukat Shoro paid tribute to the noted poet for his contributions for the cause of Sindh and Sindhi language and literature.

He said that Munshi was a national poet and his services could never be forgotten.

He said that late Ibrahim Munshi had recorded Shah-jo-Risalo in his voice which was not an ordinary feat.

Mr Shoro said that the poetry of Munshi was a national heritage and the preparation of the CDs by the Allama I. I. Kazi Forum was a national service.

He said that Munshi was not only the representative of lower and middle classes but also of peasants, workers and students.

The chairman of the Allama I. I. Kazi Literary Forum, Dr Anwar Ali Almani, said that the work of literary organisations had been restricted to only particular literature.
