KARACHI: Muttahida approves candidates

KARACHI, Nov 25: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has finalised the list of its nominees for reserved seats for women and minorities in national and provincial assemblies in the general elections.

Party sources said the MQM nominated five women, including Riffat Khan, Advocate, Imrana Saeed, Shagufta Sadiq, Naheed Fatima and Masooma Zaidi, and three minority candidates, including Advin Valentine, Panjomal Bheel and Munawar Lal, for reserved seats in national assembly.

For the provincial assembly seats reserved for women, the party nominated 23 candidates, including Ambar Khan, Advocate, Naheed Begum, Shahnaz Saifuddin, Qamar Jahan, Rana Mazhar, Hir Soho, Farzana Zafar Rajput, Kiran Masood, Seema Zarrin, Mahreen, Sikandar Jahan, Tehseen Mashkoor, Mussarrat Jabin, Husna Aftab, Qurat-ul-Ain, Afroz Jahan, Nighat Tauqir, Surraiya Zarrin, Sabra Khatoon, Naila Latif, Humera Khanum, Mussarrat Bano Warsi and Dr Rabia Jamal.

The MQM nominated Hargan Das, Stefan Asif, Rashid Khan, Dr Partap Singh, Surendar Rathor, Yaqoob, Deewan Chand Chawla and Arif Masih as minority candidates for the provincial assembly seats.
