Gujranwala sends six lawyers to NA

GUJRANWALA, Feb 21: As many as six members of the legal fraternity, including a retired judge and a barrister, have got elected to the National Assembly seats in the district.

According to results, from NA-101, Wazirabad, former Justice Iftikhar Ahmed Cheema has emerged victorious; in NA-97 advocate Mahmood Bashir Virk; in NA-95 Barrister Usman Ibrahim; in NA-98 Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, a former general secretary of district bar, has won.

Similarly, a lawyer, Rana Nazeer Ahmed, has won from NA-99 and in NA-96 Khurram Dastgir Khan has succeeded.

MUZAFFARGARH: Three lawyers out of 27 contesting for provincial assembly seats have won in the district in the Feb 18 elections.

They are, Malik Ahmed Karim Qaswar Langrial advocate, Chaudhry Ihsanul Haq advocate and Mian Muhammad Imran Qureshi advocate.

However, no lawyer could bag any National Assembly seat in the polls.—APP
