Saleem Javed goes silver

Published March 7, 2010

It's hard to believe, perhaps not that hard Saleem Javed, the erstwhile pop and bhangra singer, has completed 25 years in our fickle world of showbiz. He, Sajjad Ali and Ali Haider's backs should be patted for still going great guns despite hitting middle age (hope the stage of aching limbs hasn't arrived yet).

To celebrate Saleem Javed's silver jubilee in showbiz a programme was recently arranged at a local hotel in Karachi. Luminaries like Moin Akthar, Mustafa Qureshi and Dr Huma Mir attended the event to shower praise on the singer. Saleem Javed extended his gratitude not just to those who participated in the celebratory bash but also thanked the media for supporting him all along his professional career.

Well, congratulations SJ and keep going. However, it would've been a good idea if you'd invited some more young people to the function.
