ISLAMABAD: The environment of Marghazar Zoo has been amusing children due to its unique wildlife species and offered refreshing opportunities for the visitors here in capital city.

The Marghazar Zoo which is open from dawn to dusk, is located at the foothills of Margalla mountains, is a tremendous source of attraction for visitors across the country due to its location and fresh charming environment.

With the advent of spring season, a large number of visitors throng these recreational places like Marghazar Zoo, Playland, Daman-e-Koh, Lake View Park, Pir Sohawa and Shakarparian for enjoying pleasant weather and scenic beauties.

It has got more than 200 animals of different species including elephants, beer, deer, peacocks and more than 200 birds of different kinds to attract the people.

Talking to APP, a visitor, Zahoor Ahmad said, “Weather impacts a lot on the mood and this pleasant season of Spring compelled me to bring my family here at zoo due to its scenic beauty, and having a cup of tea in its lush green lawns.

“My children were mesmerized to see the “Saheli” (female elephant) tricks of collecting money with its trunk, moreover, birds like peacocks, ducks, dove and colored parrots were also worth watching, he said.

You can see freely flying peacocks, pheasants running around and roaming in between the picnicking families, my kids are fascinated to see it and running after them, he added.

“The light rain and clouds hovering over the sky doubled the joys of this season and it is the real time when one can enjoy the nature with blossoming flowers all around”, another visitor said.

“It has got much expansion in areawise also and each time when I come here with my kids, something new has been added or improved,” a female visitor Farhat Bangish told.

Mrs Qazi, another female visitor, who frequently visit the zoo with her family, said that they always feel very comfortable to come here.

“As compared to other recreational spots, Marghazar Zoo is playing important role in creating knowledge about wild life besides entertaining,” she said further.
