ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday inquired after the conditions of the two girls who were also injured during the attack on Malala Yousufzai — Shazia and Kainat, DawnNews reported.
The president moreover ordered the concerned authorities to ensure provision of medical treatment to both girls on the government’s behalf.
He also summoned a report from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on the conditions of the two girls.
Spokesperson to President Zardari, Senator Farhatullah Babar said the president today enquired about the health of Shazia and Kainat and said the quest for knowledge of all these children despite threats had illumined the path for all.
They represented the true face of Pakistan, were a national asset and had raised collective national consciousness against the barbarism of militants and extremists, he said.
President Zardari also prayed for the early recovery of Malala, Shazia and Kainat.
Malala Yousufzai was shot and seriously wounded on Tuesday as she was leaving her school in her hometown Mingora, in the Swat valley.
The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) later claimed responsibility for the attack saying she was pro-West and had opposed the Taliban. — DawnNews/APP

MR President must watch what is happeinng in tribal areas,thousand of families are killed by taliban and by drone attacks.tribal people are human like malala...thousands of tribal girls are killed.no one never asked.is dat justice to fata people.no single pakistani never slogan against that attack.innocent people are killing every day.they also feel pain like malala parents.they are humans like malala.but no pakistani or even government even care for that tribal people.

One last comment ....I personally think it is so sad to know that men choose when to marry off (or give away...or sell) their daughters instead of focusing on how wonderful an education they want for their daughters. Perhaps that should be the MAIN focus of what your president can do for you! To teach all of you that it is not only ok to educate your daughters...but that preventing them from having an education also prevents the men/boys/fathers/brothers/uncles/grandfathers....from benefitting from their knowledge. We all know that the most successful societies are the ones that respect their females. It really can be that simple an answer if you CHOOSE this solution.

As for the "president"? My suggestion is be there for the people of your country. NOT JUST MEN! Women/girls are equally deserving of living a life....a happy life...the way they choose to and not the way your MEN/boys have been entitled to control them. This treatment is NOT part of your faith/religion. NO! It is the way you choose to dictate how to treat females. Women around the world know how disgusting and inhumane your country treat women and WE WANT IT TO STOP! Remember....GOD is watching you every single day!!!! And...where is your legal system??? It takes a true leader to defy the evil in society and choose to make a change. No matter the risk to themselves. If you want to leave a legacy behind, then do something positive worth talking about! What has this president done so far to ensure the safey of school children? To enforce a "just" legal system. There must be a "safe" and "fair" society for your people to flourish. That is how you become a successful society/country. To suppress women and girls is NOT the solution but THE problem!!! So....if you are willing to call yourself a president...then act like one and do what is right!

This leader is willing to say that these girls are national assets to their country? Who protected them? Which laws exist to protect girls and boys who want to go to school? Every single child on this planet is entitled to an education no matter where they are nor what gender. He didn't even mention that they will put any effort into bringing the scums to justice who tried to silence Malala. The fact that this wonderful young spirit did not die is because God wants her to do HIS work.....and defy those who tried to silence her. Good work Malala!!! You will hopefully be a better president than the current one who failed you! Be strong....your country and the education system need you! You are a TRUE HERO!!!
