KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee on Friday demanded end to 36 hours loadshedding of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Sindh to help provide relief to people and facilitate CNG stations owners to run their business in better way.

A representative delegation of All-Pakistan CNG Association met party’s committee members Syed Shakir Ali and Wasay Jalil at Khursheed Begum Secretariat and briefed on problems faced by its members.

Association chairman Shabbir Sulemanji said Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) had earlier announced 24 hours loadshedding but now has increased it to 36 hours and did not bother to intimate about it to Association and CNG consumers.

He said in wake of unannounced increase in duration from 24 to 36 hours, loadshedding schedule was now being implemented from 9pm Friday to 9am Sunday, instead of previous schedule of 9am Saturday to 9am Sunday. Such belated announcement by SSGC caused unrest among CNG consumers and created hardships for CNG stations owners, he added.

Rabita Committee members assured the association that MQM would strive for bringing an end to 36 hours loadshedding. They demanded of Federal Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain and other higher authorities to immediately put a stop to increased hours of loadshedding to help provide relief to people and CNG stations owners.
