Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhthunkhwa, has faced and increase in suicide and bomb attacks over the past nine months.

Sept. 22 – Twin bomb attacks at All Saints Church in Peshawar killed 56 people and injured 130 others. No group has as yet taken responsibility of the attacks.

Sept. 11 - Unidentified persons lobbed an explosive device near the residence of Jan Gul, a former nazim of Khalsa-I, creating panic and forcing the residents to flee the area.

Sept. 6 - At least five people were injured when a motorcycle packed with explosives detonated inside the Hashtnagri police station in central Peshawar. The injured, which included three policemen, were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital for emergency care.

Aug. 23 - A Frontier Constabulary (FC) convoy narrowly escaped a bomb blast on the outskirts of Peshawar. According to police sources, the explosives were planted in a motorcycle parked along PAF Road near Bazidkhel village in the limits of Badbher police station.

July 21 – A low intensity blast occurred outside a house near Sikander Pura area in Peshawar. No loss of life was reported in the incident.

July 17 - An explosion took place in a bus in Paharipura area of Peshawar near the Motorway exchange, while the bus was traveling between Abbottabad and Peshawar. The explosion took place before the Bomb Disposal Squad could arrive. No lives were lost according to police sources.

July 10 - A loud explosion occurred under a doctor's vehicle in Dabgari Garden area of Peshawar. Police sources the device was home-made. There was no confirmation of any human loss or injury in the blast.

July 1 - At least 18 civilians were killed and 46 injured in a car bomb attack on a convoy of the Frontier Corps in Badbher area on the outskirts of Peshawar. Two FC personnel suffered injuried in the blast, while most of the victims were poor vendors and passersby.

June 21 – A suicide attack at the Hussaini madressa in Chamkini area killed at least 15 people and injured several others.

May 31 – An IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast in Budh Berh area killed a peace committee worker when it exploded near his house.

May 22 - At least 15 people were killed and several in a seminary and mosque when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives when the worshippers were praying.

May 11 - A boy was killed and 21 people injured in three bomb blasts, which took place at different places near polling stations on the suburbs of Peshawar.

April 29 - At least eight people were killed including the son of two-time former Afghan minister whereas 43 others were injured in a blast at Peshawar's University road.

April 24 - At least three people including a woman were injured in a bomb blast in Peshawar’s Sarki Gate area. According to police, the explosives were placed inside the house of contractor Amjab, severely injuring the residents of the house.

April 16 – A blast at an ANP rally in Yakatoot killed 16 people and injured dozens others. The blast took place just after the arrival of senior ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour.

April 13 – At least nine passengers were killed and nine injured when a bomb ripped through a bus through the Matni Bazar area on the outskirts of Peshawar.

March 18 - At least four persons were killed when two suicide bombers blew themselves up within the premises of the judicial complex in Peshawar. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) accepted responsibility for the attack.

March 9 - At least five people were killed and 29 others injured in an explosion inside Chishtia Hanafia Ganj Ali Khan mosque near the city's Meena bazaar.

February 21 - A blast occured in a mobile market in Gur Mandi area near Peshawar's Hashtnagri Phattak, injuring 17 people. According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, 1.5 kilogrammes of explosive materials were used in the blast.

February 18 – Two suicide bombers attacked the office of Assistant Political Agent Landi Kotal Khalid Mumtaz Kundi, who later died from the injuries sustained. Six other people also died in the attack.

January 4 - Two suspected militants were killed and as many schools destroyed in four blasts in various parts of Peshawar, while officials defused a 12 kilogramme bomb. Two other suspected militants were killed when a heavy bomb they were planting under a power pylon near Gula Khan Bagh area along border of Khyber Agency went off accidentally.

January 3 - Five students were injured slightly when an explosive device went off in the conference hall of Institute of Islamic and Arabic Studies, at University of Peshawar (UoP). About one kilogram of explosives were used in the attack, according to police sources.
